Training mid-level professionals for transport systems of
Regions of the European North of the USSR in 1950-1980-ies

Abstract. Soviet modernization of economy and social sphere required the organization of training a large number of specialists with higher and secondary qualifications, including in the regions of the European North of Russia. In a number of studies on the history of the secondary education system (S.V. Barkhatova, Y.N. Beznosikov, A.K. Gagieva, A.M. Matsuk and others) studied the dynamics of the number of educational institutions and the number of students in them, created popular works on the history of some secondary special educational institutions. In this article we will look at the main points of the functioning of secondary specialized educational institutions in the regions which preparing cadres for rail, river and road transport of regions and republics of the European North in the period 1950 -1980-ies.
