About the activity of the Committee for the publishing activities

of the Commission for the Study of the Yakut ASSR

Abstract. In the 1920s - 1930s, outlying territory of the USSR have been actively studied by academic researchers. About the work of one of these commissions - the Commission for the Study of the Yakut ASSR and its subdivision - the Committee on the publishing activities of the Commission described in the presented article. In the course of the research were studied questions natural and geographical environment of the peoples inhabiting the territory of the Yakut ASSR, conducted a detailed survey of the peoples themselves. As a result has been collected valuable material that allowed to give a comprehensive description of the potential of the republic.
