The term "colonization" in Russian historiography:
problems of perception and identification

Abstract. The article discusses the practice of using the term "colonization" from the nineteenth century to the present day, examines the different views on this issue. The author argues against rejection of traditional to Russian historiography of the interpretation of the word "colonization" and its unfounded politicization.
