To the question of the completeness of the fixation of estates
by the scouts of the first years of the reign of Mikhail Fedorovich*
Matsuk M.A.1
Abstract. After the accession to the throne of Mikhail Fyodorovich, the first tsar from the Romanov dynasty, an urgent matter was to record the population of the country and its property status. It is known that during the first few years of the reign of Mikhail Fedorovich (1614-1617) almost all the counties of European Russia were inspected by the scouts who described them. These cadastral documents are widely used by researchers. The information contained in scribal sentinel books is often taken for absolutely reliable. However, there are examples of not completely fixing subjects of cadastral taxation, which makes it necessary to treat such data with a certain suspicion. The article gives examples of passes of a number of estates by the scribes of Livenskiy Uyezd in 1615/16.
Keywords: Russia, scribe descriptions, Livenskiy Uyezd, 1615/16 year.
