Education reform of the second half of the 1950s and
secondary specialized education in the European North of the RSFSR
Abstract. In the second half of the 1950s. in the Soviet Union carried out the reform of education. Several normative acts were adopted that made significant changes in the education system in general and in the system of secondary specialized education, in particular. In domestic historiography, there are several points of view on the outcome of the reform. The article based on statistical compilations are shown the consequences of the considered reform to the system of secondary special education of the European North of the RSFSR. The conclusions are drawn both about the negative and its positive consequences.
