Ust-Kulom peasant Ivan Rassykhayev: experience of agriculture
in the Russia`s European North-East in the first third of the XX century

Abstract. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, certain changes occurred in the Komi village, related to the increase in the peasantry agrarian culture. The most educated representatives of the rural population got acquainted with the advanced works on agrarian culture printed in the capital's magazines and tried put some tips out of them in practice. Among these representatives is the Ust-Kulom peasant Ivan Stepanovich Rassykhayev, who left behind himself diary records for almost every day, where he painted weather conditions, different crops, which, under different weather conditions, should bring the optimal harvest. Ivan Rassykhayev`s experience is also important in our day, when meadows and arable land are neglected, and their revival could contribute to the revival of the village and the national culture.
