Peasant’s private law acts of the XVI century in the fund of the Yarenskaya prikaznaya izba

Abstract. The article analyzes the documents that existed in the peasant environment of the European North of Russia in the XVI century: spiritual letters (wills), land parcels, business documents (certificates that recorded the division of property). The existence of such documents testifies to the existence of private ownership of land among the northern state peasants.
