Abstract. The article deals with the geography of the location of the medical schools of the RSFSR Ministry of Health. These schools (in the terminology of the early 1950s, secondary medical schools) trained mid-level medical personnel to work in hospitals, clinics, outpatient clinics, and medical assistants' offices in the RSFSR regions — nurses, medical assistants, dentists and dental technicians, pharmacists, medical technicians. A list of secondary medical schools and their distribution by subjects of the RSFSR was compiled on the basis of reports from these educational institutions for the 1950/51 academic year. The analysis of the received list allowed us to carry out a gradation of subjects of the RSFSR by the number of secondary medical schools, and also to determine the degree of provision of these educational institutions of economic regions of the RSFSR.
Keywords: health care, secondary special educational institutions, medical schools, nurses, medical assistant, history, RSFSR, early 1950s.
