Abstract. The author talks about his colleagues who worked in the feudalism sector of the Institute of History of the USSR Academy of Sciences of the USSR, who went the hard way of the Great Patriotic War - Alexander Alexandrovich Preobrazhensky, Ilya Andreyevich Bulygin, Alexander Isaevich Iukht and Lev Nikitich Pushkarev, their wartime exploits, received awards, memoirs.
