Sulev Iva’s contribution to the development of the Voru language

Abstract. The phenomenon of multilingualism, in other words, the use of two or more languages by an individual speaker or a community of speakers, is widespread throughout the world. Thus, in Sweden, along with the use of the Swedish language by society, there is a Meankieli (Tornedal language), in Estonia - the Voro and Seto languages, dialect of Zaonezhye in Republic of Karelia (Russia) etc. All small peoples, using the state language, try to preserve and consolidate in writing and literature a particle of their kind and culture, which manifests itself, first of all, in the language. In our article we will talk about a person who is trying not only to preserve, but also to develop his native Voro language.
